Progression

Ascalon Awaken is a slow-progression world. The early levels fly by; then the climb turns serious and a grind wall sets in through the mid-game. There is no level cap — you can always push higher, it simply asks more of you the deeper you go.

Hunt up, not down

Fighting monsters above your own level always pays better experience, so the world rewards pushing into tougher zones instead of farming safe ground. Your vocation keeps unlocking new spells the whole way up — there is always a reason to climb.
